Background 

Household and dwelling estimates for a range of geographies can be accessed using the links below. Estimates for these geographies are built up using household and dwelling estimates for 2011 Data Zones. 

2011 Data Zones do not always fit exactly into the boundaries of other geographical areas, so they are allocated on a best-fit basis. An evaluation of non-standard geography population estimates has been carried out to assess special area population estimates built up in this way.

Corrections and revisions 

Household and dwelling estimates for small areas and other geographies are corrected in line with the Code of Practice for Official Statistics if errors occur. Information on previous corrections to these statistics is available from the Revisions and Corrections page.
