National Records of Scotland (NRS) has partnered with archives organisations from across the country to create an annual survey of the archive sector for the whole of the UK.
This annual survey will gather the standardised baseline data required to gain a rich, consistent picture of the archive sector. The results will support effective advocacy on behalf of archives locally, regionally and nationally.
NRS and the Scottish Council on Archives have partnered with The National Archives, Welsh Government, Archives and Records Council Wales and Public Record Office of Northern Ireland to create this survey.
Once complete, a report will be published by The National Archives along with the survey dataset. This will help archives to benchmark their performance against other services.
Each archive service only needs to submit one response, even if they operate from multiple sites.
You can fill in the survey online and find more information on the National Archives website, with guidance to help you plan your answers.
The deadline for completing this survey is Friday 14 March 2025.
