Two letters about Robert Burns were put on show for the first time, alongside other NRS treasures. The exhibition looked at how the poet became an excise officer, the way he conducted this work, and his radical politics.
The letters were written by John Mitchell, Burn’s superior, to one of the poet’s most important patrons, Robert Graham of Fintry.
