Correction - 13 November 2025: Please note that death rates in tables DT.09, DT.10, DT.11 and DT.12 for 2023 and 2024 have been updated, as rates calculated for these years used unrevised population estimates for 2023 rather than the latest available estimates and had been published in error. The corrected rates within these tables have been calculated using the latest population estimates. Overall trends have not been affected by this.
The number of deaths in tables DT.11 and DT.12 caused by Cancer - trachea, bronchus + lung for 2024 have also been updated. The number has increased by one for Scotland, Lothian (health board) and West Lothian (council area) due to the cause of death of a record being updated. The incorrect number had been published in error.
