These tables provide population estimates for a number of geographies which have been built up using 2022 data zone level small area population estimates. These are currently available for mid-2011 to mid-2024.
Geographies for which estimates are available include Electoral Wards, International Territorial Levels, Urban Rural Classification, Scottish Parliamentary Constituencies, UK Parliamentary Constituencies and Scottish Island Regions.
The 2022 data zones do not always fit exactly into the boundaries of other geographical areas, so they are allocated on a best-fit basis.
National Records of Scotland usually publishes populations for Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) deciles; however, as the most recent set of SIMD is based on 2011 data zones, a lookup to 2022 data zones is not currently possible.
