These are the version notes for the latest Scottish Postcode Directory (SPD) spatial data (ESRI Shapefile format), postcode index and accompanying lookup files (CSV format).
Overview
The data is based on the January 2025 release of Royal Mail’s Postcode Address File (PAF) and contains:

Postcode Index Changes
We have introduced 2 new fields and updated 5 existing fields to the latest version available. The new fields are:
- New fields - DataZone2022Code and IntermediateZone2022Code.
- Updated fields - UrbanRural6Fold2022Code, UrbanRural8Fold2022Code, LAU2025Level1Code, ITL2025Level2Code, and ITL2025Level3Code.
Known Errors
There were no errors identified in the SPD 2024/2 release.
