These tables provide small area population estimates (SAPE) for mid-2023 and mid-2024 based on 2011 data zones. Comparable figures for mid-2011 to mid-2021 can be found in the rebased small area population estimates for 2011 to 2021 (2011 data zones) publication while figures for mid-2022 are available from the small area population estimates: mid-2022 publication.
Population estimates for mid-2023 and mid-2024 will be revised later in 2026. These revisions will take account of updated estimates of international migration. More information can be found here.
Population estimates for other geographies that are built up from these data zone estimates (such as Electoral Wards, Scottish Parliamentary Constituencies and Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation) can be found here.
Small area population estimates based on the new 2022 data zones will be published later in the year. These will cover the period from mid-2011 to mid-2024.
