These figures were first published in February 2026 and were consistent with the Scotland and council level population estimates for mid-2023 and mid-2024 that were available at that time. The mid-2023 and mid-2024 population estimates for Scotland and its administrative areas have since been revised to reflect the latest estimates of international migration. However, the small area population estimates found below have not been revised and there are currently no plans to revise them.
Small area population estimates that are consistent with the latest mid-2023 and mid-2024 population estimates, and which are based on the more recent 2022 data zones, can be found here. More information on the revisions to population estimates can be found here.
