6.1.2 Males aged 65 in Orkney Islands, the Council area with the highest life expectancy at age 65 (19.4 years) could expect to live 4.5 years longer than those in Glasgow City, which had the lowest (14.9 years).

Females aged 65 in East Dunbartonshire could expect to live for a further 21.5 years, 3.2 years longer than those in Glasgow City, whose life expectancy at age 65 is estimated to be 18.3 years.
