Drugs and other substances which were reported as being present in the body for drug-related deaths

The following tables list all the drugs and other substances that have been reported as present in the body based on two definitions: drug misuse deaths and drug poisoning deaths (the wider definition).
Both tables are split into parts A and B. Part A provides the substances which were implicated in, or which contributed to, the cause of death (as reported from 2008; up to 2007, this list covers all the substances which were reported).  Part B contains the list of substances which were present but which were not considered to have had any direct contribution to the death (as reported from 2008; this list has no information for the years up to 2007).

Drug misuse deaths by selected drugs reported on the 'all drugs found present in the body' basis, by area, 2023

These additional tables provide the number of drug misuse deaths by selected drugs reported and area. These are based on 'all drugs found present in the body' basis which is not the standard basis used to produce statistics of individual drugs.
