User Consultations, Groups and Seminars

Groups and Committees

Population and Migration Statistics Committee (PAMS)
PAMS is one of a number of committees covering the whole range of official statistics and is responsible to the SCOTSTAT board. The group discusses the characteristics, structure and dynamics of the population and assesses how this information can be extended and improved. It also acts as the Census Advisory Group for Scotland.

Household Analysis Review Group (HARG)
HARG is a consultative group concerned with the household estimates and projections produced by the National Records of Scotland.

Projections Sub-Group (PSG)
PSG report to PAMS and advise on the review of the method for projecting the populations of areas within Scotland and also for a one-off piece of work to produce sub-council area population and household projections.

POPGROUP Users Group (PUG) (Scotland)
This group has been set up to allow POPGROUP users in Scotland to meet and share knowledge and experiences.

Archived groups
This covers groups that no longer meet and includes Small Area Population Estimates Working Group (SAPE), Population Projections Working Group (PPWG) and Census Outputs Geography Working Group (COGWG).

Other UK wide boards and groups

Representatives from the National Records of Scotland attend the UK Population Theme Group, the UK Population Theme Advisory Board and the Central Local Information Partnership Group (CLIP).  These groups are convened by the Office for National Statistics. The papers and minutes from these meetings are available in the Population statistics meetings and user groups section of the Office ONS website

Consultations

Consultation is an essential and important aspect of the National Records of Scotland working methods. More information on the consultation process and all current and closed consultations can be found via our consultations section.

ScotStat

ScotStat is a network for users and providers of Scottish Official statistics. It aims to improve communication amongst those interested in particular statistics and facilitate the setting up of working groups on specific statistical issues. You can access ScotStat from the statistics section of the Scottish Government website.

Statistics Customer Survey 2007

The aim of the Statistics Customer Survey 2007 was to assess the levels of satisfaction our customers had with our online statistical resources.
