Manuscript of Walter Bower’s Scotichronicon, written by Magnus Makculloch and illustrated by James Graye. At the request of David Stewart of Rosyth, a Fife laird, Walter Bower, abbot of Inchcolm, wrote this epic history of the Scots. Contained in this manuscript is a transcription of the Declaration of Arbroath, one of 26 copies of the Declaration to have survived from medieval Scotland.
