This photograph shows prisoner William Porter with his head being held still for a photograph. This image is found in a 'Criminal Lunatic Department Case Book'. William was admitted to Perth Prison in 1881 for housebreaking and theft. It recently featured in the 2019 Fringe Festival exhibition ‘Prisoners or Patients?
